Privacy Policy

The app doesn’t collect your data. This page lists what the app stores and every time it connects to the internet.

In short

  • No account

No sign-up and no login. The app doesn’t collect your data, and there are no ads, analytics or tracking.

  • Stays on your iPhone

Your saves are stored on your iPhone. SaveHere doesn’t send them to any server.

  • Straight to the website

To read a page you share, your iPhone connects directly to that website.

What this policy covers

This policy covers the SaveHere app for iPhone.

The savehere.app website sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics. It is served through Cloudflare, a web hosting and content delivery provider. When you visit it, Cloudflare processes connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy explains how Cloudflare handles that data.

What SaveHere stores, and where

SaveHere stores your saves on your iPhone. For each save it keeps the link, its category, when you saved it, and what it read from the page: title, text, author, pictures and the site’s icon. It also keeps your categories.

The app and its Share sheet extension use the same storage on your iPhone (an App Group: a storage area that only SaveHere’s own parts can open). None of it is sent to us.

SaveHere adds your saves to your iPhone’s search (Spotlight), so you can find them from iPhone search. That index also stays on your iPhone.

If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, iOS may include SaveHere’s data in that backup. Apple’s terms cover those backups.

When the app connects to the internet

SaveHere connects only to the websites of the links you save, and to the servers those sites use for redirects, pictures and icons. Requests are sent from your iPhone, not through a server of ours. The app connects:

  • When you share a link, to read that page once. If you share from Safari, SaveHere can use the page Safari already shows and may not connect at all.
  • When you tap Read Again on a save.
  • When you open a save that has content, to check whether the original post is still there. This happens at most once every 24 hours for each save.
  • After a page is read, to download its pictures and site icon to your iPhone. For a page read while you share, this happens the next time you open the app.
  • Before reading a page, to read that site’s robots.txt (a file where websites post rules for automated tools). Your iPhone keeps it for up to 24 hours.
  • In some cases, when the page itself can’t be read, SaveHere asks LinkPresentation (the iOS feature that makes link previews) for a title and picture. Those requests are made by that Apple system feature.

As with any visit, the website can see your IP address, the app’s name and version, and your language setting. SaveHere sends no cookies and no login. What the website does with this is covered by its own privacy policy.

When you open the original post, SaveHere opens it in Safari inside the app or in that platform’s app. From then on, that website’s or app’s policy applies.

Export and import

Export All Saves creates a file with your links, their categories and save dates, plus your categories’ names, colors and icons. It doesn’t include anything read from websites. You choose where the file goes; after that, it’s yours to keep or delete.

Import Saves only reads a file you pick, and only adds saves from a SaveHere export file.

Deleting your data

You can delete single saves and categories in the app. To delete everything, delete the SaveHere app: iOS removes its data from your iPhone. Copies in your backups and in files you exported stay until you delete them.

TestFlight

SaveHere is in beta on TestFlight, Apple’s beta testing service. Apple runs TestFlight. If you send feedback or a crash report through TestFlight, Apple passes it to us along with the information Apple describes for TestFlight. Apple’s Privacy Policy explains how Apple handles your data.
